Director Statement

In filming and editing “Tic,” I made a conscious decision to use shaky camera work to capture the chaos of my tics and force the viewer to see the world through the eyes of someone with Tourette’s Syndrome — someone whose head is never still. I wanted the viewer to feel a nagging sense of discomfort as the scene periodically pulled in and out of focus. That’s what Tourette’s feels like — an itch that begs to be scratched but can never be satisfied.

This is Tic.
