7th Bridges Loutraki International Film Festival

The Bridges Loutraki International Film Festival returns for its 7th edition, kicking off the summer film season in Corinthia with a rich and exciting cinematic journey from Greece and around the world. Screenings will take place at the Electra Open-Air Cinema in Loutraki from June 13 to 25, 2025, with free entry for the public.

🌟 Festival Highlights:

  • “Diakos the Hero-Martyr” by Pavlos Douros (June 13): Festival Opening Night
  • NEREUS Film Awards (June 22): For the first time at the BRIDGES Festival in Loutraki, the newly introduced NEREUS Awards will be presented alongside the traditional Audience Award. The NEREUS Awards will be judged and presented by a panel of film professionals and critics.
    Nereus, a sea god in Greek mythology, was the guardian of pure waters, wisdom, and kindness — symbolizing the flow, clarity, and depth that great cinema aspires to. These values and cinema are promoted by the BRIDGES International Film Festival.
  • Musical program (June 22) featuring virtuoso guitarist Kostas Boznos and soprano Melina Paschalidou. 
  • “Reinas” (June 22): Switzerland’s official Oscar entry, with awards from Berlin & Locarno, presented in collaboration with FeCHA Festival and supported by the Cuban Embassy in Greece. 
  • A three-day tribute to past award-winning BRIDGES Festival films culminating on June 25, featuring themes of existential questions, gender, trauma, and personal freedom. 
  • “Sgt. Fruit Fly” (June 23): A heartfelt coming-of-age film by Greek-Canadian Tommy King, recipient of the Golden Aphrodite & Nostimon Imar Awards (2024) 
  • “STAMPILA” (June 24): Political drama from Moldova and winner of the Golden Pegasus Award (2024) 
  • “Isovites” (June 25): A dramatic comedy by Theodoros Marangos, exploring the clash between societal suffocation and personal freedom 
  • “Common Denominator” (June 25): A philosophical dramedy and directorial debut by Sotiris Tsafoulias, recipient of the Golden Pegasus Award (2014)

💬 Parallel Activities:

  • Participation of active members of WIFT chapters, curated by WIFT CYPRUS (Women in Film and Television – Cyprus).
    • Collaboration with the CWEP Project (Cyprus Women Environmental Peacemakers), an initiative that highlights the role of women in environmental peacebuilding and social empowerment through artistic actions and intercultural dialogue in Cyprus and the buffer zone.
    • Q&A discussions with directors and actors after the screenings.
    • Screenings for children and families focused on empathy and imagination.

📍 About the Festival:

The BRIDGES International Film Festival is held annually in three cities — Loutraki (June 13–25, 2025), Corinth (October 20–25, 2025), and Nafplio (December 3–7, 2025) — each featuring a unique program and themes. The festival provides a platform for independent filmmakers worldwide, highlighting stories with humanistic and social messages. It is organized on a volunteer basis by the Cultural Company CINEART, based in Corinthia, under the auspices of the municipalities of Loutraki–Perachora–Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth, and Nafplio.
