Synopsis: Klidonas in Margarites explores the summer solstice folk customs of modern Greece. Through May flowers, charmed water, and purifying fires, the syncretic tradition of Klidonas blends ancient Hellenic and Christian practices. This documentary captures one village’s revival of the custom, not as a nostalgic relic, but as a vibrant thread in the fabric of its identity. Juxtaposing villagers’ memories with its contemporary enactment, the film reveals a living connection to the past while asking a fundamental question: Is there still room for magic in our lives?
