Synopsis: 1933: When a swastika flag was hoisted in his village, Baltic writer Siegfried von Vegesack withdraws into the woods. In isolation, he wrestles with his own ghosts and has a fateful encounter. He decides that – in order to remain with a clean conscience – he must take his fate into his own hands.
