The awards ceremony of the 14th International Film Festival of Corinthia Peloponnese, “Golden Pegasus,” took place yesterday at the Municipal Theater of Corinth. A crowd of people visited the art exhibition with the theme of Cinema, held in the foyer of the Municipal Theater. The exhibition featured paintings by members and friends of the Alkyonides Art and Literature Association before entering the auditorium for the Golden Pegasus Awards Ceremony. At the event, there were present Marina Raditsa, Deputy Mayor for Education, Culture, Social Policy, and Solidarity of the Municipality of Corinth, Olga Konomodi, President of the Association of Speech and Art, Kassimi Panagiota, Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinthia, Panagiotis Louziotis, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Corinthia, the newly elected Mayor of Corinthia, Nikos Stavrelis, Dimitra Naku, a member of the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Corinth, actors Mary Vidali, Jacob Mylonas, Evie Karadima, Myrto Korka, Nikos Kurou, and members of the jury Abraham Papadopoulos, Argyris Theos, Stathis Reppas, Alexis Haviaras, Dimitris Kannavos, as well as directors who participated with their films in the International Film Festival “Bridges” from Greece, Australia, the United States, and Canada.
The event was hosted by actress Eleni Petropoulou. A tribute was presented to the late actress Katerina Chelmi, known for her contributions to theater and cinema, and Vice President of the “Bridges” Festival in 2021-2022 in Ancient Corinth and Nafplio. The Artistic Director of the Festival, Petra Terzi, inaugurated and presented for the first time the “Katerina Chelmi” Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role to Maria Christina Tzavara for her impressive performance in the film “God’s Painting” by Yannis Kalogeropoulos.
After the presentation of the “Golden Pegasus” awards, the youth orchestra of the Kalogeropouleio Conservatory, conducted by maestro and composer Panagiotis Theodosiou, performed music from cinema. The beautiful evening concluded with the screening of the film “Iman,” directed by Kyriakos Tofaridis and Corinna Avramidou.
